Acceptance

By using Caltopia, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Wellness use only

Caltopia is provided for personal wellness and self-tracking. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Calorie and macronutrient estimates are calculated using established public formulas (Mifflin–St Jeor) and standard activity multipliers from the Institute of Medicine. Individual results vary; treat any number the app gives you as a starting point, not a prescription.

Your responsibilities

• Use accurate information about yourself.
• Do not rely on Caltopia as a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or psychological advice.
• Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, exercise, or medication routine — especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are recovering from an eating disorder, or are taking prescription medications.
• If you have a current or past eating disorder, please use Caltopia only under the guidance of a healthcare provider. If tracking is increasing food anxiety or restrictive thinking, pause use and reach out for support. NEDA helpline (US): 1-800-931-2237.

Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, redistribute, sublicense, or attempt to extract data from other users (there is no shared data — but the rule applies anyway).

Third-party data

Food information shown for searched and scanned foods comes from public databases (Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central). We make no warranty as to its completeness or accuracy. Always verify against the actual packaging before relying on the data.

Limitation of liability

Caltopia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any health outcomes, financial loss, lost data, or other damages related to your use of the app or decisions made based on information shown in it.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date will change and a notice will appear in-app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination

You can stop using Caltopia at any time by deleting the app, which also removes all your locally-stored data. We reserve the right to remove or change features in the app.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
